Two Dates, One Mission: World Sickle Cell Day & September Awareness Month
Two dates on the calendar carry one powerful message: no one should face sickle cell disease alone. On June 19 the world recognizes World Sickle Cell Day, and every September the United States observes National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. At the 360 SCD Hub, both are invitations — to learn, to connect, and to protect the gift of health for our warriors and their families.

World Sickle Cell Day — June 19
Recognized by the United Nations and the World Health Organization, June 19 raises global awareness of sickle cell disease and honors the warriors and families living with it. This year our message is simple: Let’s end the stigma now… together. Awareness is the first step toward better care, earlier diagnosis, and a community where every warrior feels seen and supported.

National Sickle Cell Awareness Month — September
Each September, the Sickle Cell Foundation of Arizona celebrates Sickle Cell Awareness Month and invites everybody to connect and learn more. Throughout the month we host education sessions, health screenings, and community activations across our zones — from Tucson to the West Valley, East Valley, Central Phoenix, and Pinal. Whether you are a warrior, a caregiver, a healthcare professional, or a neighbor who wants to help, there is a place for you.
