A New Season, and a Wider Table: Monthly Insights LIVE Returns September 28
Season Three of 360° SCD Hub Monthly Insights LIVE opens on Monday, September 28 at 12:00 noon Arizona time — and the hour is built around something we have been saying to each other all year: no single part of this works alone.
A family managing sickle cell disease needs a care team that listens. A care team needs information it can trust. A community organization needs both, plus the people on the ground who know their own neighborhoods. The 360° SCD Hub exists to hold those pieces together — the technology, the family support, and the partners who show up — and this season opener is where you will see all three in the same room.
What the hour covers
Season Opener: Flu Season Readiness & Updates
Monday, September 28 · 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM Arizona (3:00 PM Eastern)
A Special Proclamation
We open by sharing a proclamation recognizing sickle cell disease in Arizona, and what that recognition asks of all of us.
For families living with sickle cell
The Family Tracking tool on the Hub has been rebuilt, and it now does something simple and overdue: it turns what a family already knows into something a care team can read in a minute. We will show what changed.
We will also introduce Blossom Where You Are Planted — five Community Support Zones across Arizona, each with its own Community Director and its own people on the ground, so support is local rather than theoretical. And because it is the season for it, we will talk plainly about flu preparation, and why it matters more when you are living with sickle cell.
For the medical community
We will announce the formation of the Arizona Community Health Advisory Council for Sickle Cell Disease — Arizona’s hospitals and health systems around one table, working toward one standard of care.
We will also talk about stigma at the door of an emergency department, what it costs a patient, and a phrase we keep returning to: empathy has to move in both directions. Clinicians carry real weight too, and a system that only asks one side to extend grace is not a system that holds.
For everyone else
Get screened — especially if you are planning a family and do not know your status. We will talk about how the message travels further through football, including the NFLPA campaign with Genetix Biotherapeutics, and about the relationship with the Kwame Lassiter Foundation and what an amplified athlete’s voice can do for a cause this often overlooked.
Who is at the table
Our own Moses Akpan hosts alongside Dr. Rob Gillio and Coach Lucy Howell of The Force for Health® Network, our technology and education partner on the Hub. We are also glad to introduce our newest co-host, Mike Pogge, joining the table this season.
The partners who make this work possible — health systems, blood centers, public health, research and community organizations across Arizona — are part of why this season looks the way it does. Some will join us on air across the coming months; all of them are why there is something to report.
How to watch
Watch live on YouTube, Facebook or LinkedIn — every link is on the event page, and the comments are open on all three. Bring a question. The segment for the medical community includes time for them if the clock allows.

If you have not joined the 360° SCD Hub yet, this is a good week to. The trackers, the Community Support Zones, the learning library and the groups are free to members, and every one of them works better when more of the ecosystem is in it.
We will see you Monday at noon.
