What’s My Role?

Make sure contact information on the bloodspot screening card is correct so that your family and healthcare provider can be notified quickly if there is an abnormal result or if your baby needs additional testing.

Be sure your baby receives the 2nd bloodspot screening at 5-10 days old.

A repeat screening may be needed for a variety of reasons; it does not necessarily mean your baby has one of the newborn screening conditions.

Follow up quickly with your baby’s provider if a repeat screening or additional testing is necessary.
